Roundworms

WARNING FOR THE FAINT-HEARTED:
This lovely looking creature is what we found in our poor little puppy's poop this morning! I immediately fished it out and took it straight to the vet. I must have presented in a bit of panic.
The vet said that Amber probably got them from her mama ~ meaning that she was infected before she was born. They range from 3 to 7 inches long. Our little guy was about 4 inches.
We were given a proper deworming product (that we have to give for 3 days) and told that lots of puppies get these cuddly little worms. In fact, they are the most common of the parasitic worms found inside a dog.
We verified that our other dog, Star and any other dogs that she has played with are safe. They confirmed. (So, relax sweet Dakota, Spirit, Floyd and Mac!)
So Amber has had a big day today ~ She was also micro-chipped and licenced with the city. Get well soon, Sweet Amber Waves!

The Wades

Oh no! I'm glad to have the warning. I would be freaked out finding that in Hank's poop. Maybe I should go take a look.
