We purchased an 1/8th of a cow. Weird sentence, huh? :) After the butchering took place, we were notified that we had to pick up our beef in Moriarty! So the girls and I had our own little field trip.
Tom is preparing us a T-bone steak as we speak.......

Looks great. When our kids were small (1970s) my parents owned a small country grocery store and my Dad was the butcher. Whenever any meat started looking a little old (still good, but wouldn't sell) he would put it in the freezer. Whenever we came home to visit we would fill up a cooler with all kinds of cuts of meat. It was great.
